Evidence Based Research

Module Overview

Communicating with the public via nutrition education materials is an important facet of community nutrition. The dietetics profession uses evidence based information and practices in order to create nutrition education material and programming.

This section contains examples of the educational materials developed for the diabetes support group, color your plate stand, and stress management lunch and learn, accompanied by references.

All the module evidence based materials and supporting evidence can be found here. The following are several examples from the full write up.

Employee Lunch & Learn Example

As part of the stress management lunch and learn I developed several materials including an infographic on the 6 anti-stress tips and an info sheet on mindfulness. The rest of the materials and sources can be found in the full module write up.

Diabetes Support Group Example

As part of the diabetes support group I developed several materials including handouts on snacking and a powerpoint presentation on carbohydrates. I have included the snack list here as an example, and the rest of the materials and sources can be found in the full module write up.
